SEND at Harbour View
Our SENCo, Mrs Fatima Al-Rashid, leads a team dedicated to ensuring that our 16% of pupils with SEND receive excellent support. We operate a graduated approach (Assess, Plan, Do, Review) and work closely with families at every stage.
We have particular expertise in supporting pupils with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), which is our most common area of need. Our dedicated speech and language intervention room allows daily targeted sessions, and we benefit from a fortnightly visit from the NHS speech and language therapy service.
We also support children with social, emotional and mental health needs through our trained ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) and our partnership with the local CAMHS team. Our SEND Information Report is available in our Policies & Documents section.
