Our Ethos & Values

At Harbour View Primary Academy, our motto — Aim high. Work hard. Be kind. — drives everything we do. We have the highest expectations for every child, regardless of background or starting point. We believe that with the right support, ambition and effort, every child can succeed.

Our five core values — Ambition, Determination, Integrity, Respect and Teamwork — are taught explicitly, celebrated publicly and reinforced through our behaviour and rewards system. Each half term, children can earn value badges for demonstrating these qualities in and out of the classroom.

We actively promote British Values through our diverse curriculum and school community. Our Student Council elections teach democracy in action. Our clear behaviour policy upholds the rule of law. We encourage every child to express their individuality (liberty) while treating others with dignity (mutual respect and tolerance). Our cultural diversity is a living classroom for these values.
