Curriculum

At Harbour View Primary Academy, we deliver a broad, ambitious curriculum designed to equip every child with the knowledge, skills and cultural capital they need to succeed. Our curriculum is sequenced carefully to build on prior learning, and we make no compromises on breadth — every subject matters.

Computing runs through everything we do. From Bee-Bots in Reception to Python in Year 6, children develop digital literacy alongside their academic studies. But our curriculum is far more than technology. Music, art, drama, history, geography, languages and PE all have dedicated curriculum time, taught by specialists where possible.

We use the Northern Gateway trust's shared curriculum frameworks in English, maths and science, supplemented by school-specific enrichment including STEM weeks, author visits, theatre trips and our partnership with the Discovery Museum.
